Krassimira Niagulova from Regional Library “Partenii Pavlovich”- Silistra informs.

In connection with Snejana Ianeva’s birth on the 8-th March we published in the Facebook page of the initiative “Make your library green” pictures from her visits to Silistra during the years. As many other initiatives did, “Make your library green” project started as Snejana Ianeva’s idea. It was a campaign of the section “American library experience” to the Bulgarian Library and Information Association. The initiative stimulates public libraries to give information and programs to the community, connected with the preservation of the environment, as well as to undertake steps to economize energy and other natural resources.

Sofia Peicheva - the Director of the Regional Library “Emanuil Popdimitrov”- informs that the library celebrates the Memorial week in connection with the anniversary of Snejana Ianeva’s birthday and pays tribute to her inspiring and selfless service for the modernization and democratization of the Bulgarian libraries by arranging a show window with materials about her in the foyer of the library.

Within the framework of the Memorial Week for Snejana Ianeva (06-14 March 2021) the Regional Library “Hristo Smirnenski” celebrated the anniversary of her birthday with a publication in its library site, in its Facebook page and on an electronic information board in the central foyer of the library.

On the occasion of the Memorial week, marking Snejana Ianeva’s birthday, the Board of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association, of which Ms. Ianeva was the President until her passing, proposed Snejana Ianeva to be awarded the Order of “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” 1-st degree. The proposal for this high government award, granted by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to Bulgarian citizens with exceptional contribution to the culture of our country, was submitted on March, 11^th, 2021 to the Ministry of Culture.
