On March 8th, Snejana Ianeva’s birthday, the Regional Library “Geo Milev” in the town of Montana, started a Memorial Week of the acknowledgement in memory of the woman, who devoted her life to the libraries.
On March 18, 2021, the community of the hometown of Snejana Ianeva marked her birth date with an event organized by the Municipal Council and the City Library. Words of respect to this remarkable Bulgarian, born in Dimitrovgrad, sounded in the hall of the library that has her name. The mayor of the town, Mr. Ivo Dimov, and the Chair of the Municipal Council, Mrs. Gergana Krasteva, colleagues and relatives of Snejana expressed their gratitude for her work and devotion to Bulgarian libraries and culture.
On the website of the Regional Library “Mihalaki Georgiev” in Vidin information was published about the Memorial week, dedicated to Snejana Ianeva and about the Memorial Fund “Snejana Ianeva” - established in January 2020 by “BCause” Foundation. Snejana Ianeva was a librarian and President of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association from 2012 and Chairperson of Global Libraries Bulgaria Foundation until her passing. However in the first place she was a person, whose life was devoted to the libraries and librarianship. She was and will continue to be an inspiration and an example to all of us, working in this profession.
The team of the Regional Library in Russe remembers with respect the attention, the wholeheartedness in her attitude to our desire for growth or to problems encountered by our cultural institute. In the Memorial week, with which we mark Snejana Ianeva’s memory, the Regional Library “Liuben Karavelov” published at its website a commemorative material, photos and a link to the Memorial Website for Snejana Ianeva.

In connection with Snejana Ianeva’s birth on the 8-th March we published in the Facebook page of the initiative “Make your library green” pictures from her visits to Silistra during the years. As many other initiatives did, “Make your library green” project started as Snejana Ianeva’s idea. It was a campaign of the section “American library experience” to the Bulgarian Library and Information Association. The initiative stimulates public libraries to give information and programs to the community, connected with the preservation of the environment, as well as to undertake steps to economize energy and other natural resources.
