On the occasion of the Memorial week, marking Snejana Ianeva’s birthday, the Board of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association, of which Ms. Ianeva was the President until her passing, proposed Snejana Ianeva to be awarded the Order of “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” 1-st degree. The proposal for this high government award, granted by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to Bulgarian citizens with exceptional contribution to the culture of our country, was submitted on March, 11^th, 2021 to the Ministry of Culture.

The proposal in brief mentions the exceptional service of Snejana Ianeva in initiating and organizing  professional exchanges and implementation of the best European and world library practices, in the modernization of libraries and in the development of librarianship in our country for more than 30 years. The proposal is supported by the entire community of librarians in Bulgaria and by the current holders of the Order of St.St. Cyril and Methodius such as Vanya Grashkina – Deputy President of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association; Dr. Ivan Alexandrov – Deputy Director of the Regional Library “P. R. Slaveikov” in Veliko Tarnovo.
