Memories by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Encheva, Representative of the Bulgarian library community in EBLIDA

I will make a personal donation to the fund in the name of Snejana Ianeva and will support in any way my colleagues Zagorov and Todorova in the initiatives they offer to honour the memory and work of the outstanding person and professional Mrs. Ianeva.

I met Snejana Ianeva as a high school student when the American Information Center was available to readers. Despite the high position held by her, Ms. Snejana Ianeva was always among us, the readers, paying special attention to the youngest users of the center.

Years later, when I myself became part of the professional community as a librarian and a teacher, life gave me a chance to meet again with this remarkable woman, who encouraged and supported me in my work as a representative of the Bulgarian library community in EBLIDA.

The loss of Ms. Ianeva was a severe blow to librarians in Bulgaria. Her name and deeds will be remembered for a long time by us, her colleagues and will serve as an example and inspiration for new fruitful deeds for the libraries in our country.
