The Regional Library in Silistra participates in a number of national and international initiatives, which are the implemention of ideas of Mrs. Snejana Ianeva or were supported by her.
We parted suddenly and unexpectedly with one of the leaders of the library and information sphere in our country - Mrs. Snejana Ianeva.
The academic community of the University of Library Science and Information Technology - faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, we all express our deep respect for her personality, work and professional achievements.
It is with deep sorrow and respect, that I morn the passing of Snejana Ianeva – an exceptional professional and a very good-hearted person. However, no one dies if that person is remembered and loved.
It is difficult to think about Sneja in the past tense. We remember her; respect her many accomplishments; we value what she had done for each and every one of us. I am here as Sneja’s friend but besides that as a librarian, who succeeded to make the step from the libraries to the European Parliament through very tough responsibilities. I can say this achievement is thanks to Sneja, because I always had her support. I have tried, together with her, from my position at the European Parliament, to work for the libraries. She was unstoppable. You can imagine what Sneja had done to convince me to participate in the conference of the Dutch princess, dedicated to the libraries. You can imagine what Sneja had done, so that I could take part in the IFLA conference and make a speech about the Bulgarian libraries and the role of the libraries in a steady social development.
Snejeto, she had excellent ideas and the ability to make all of them a reality….

...The whole team of the Ministry of Culture had worked with Snejana Ianeva for long years before I became Deputy Minister. I would like to tell something personal, because I think that everyone should share personal experiences. For the first time I heard the name Snejana Ianeva at thе moment when the sign boards, directing to the libraries, had to be placed. At that time I was working at the Plovdiv Municipality... and we were wondering where to put those sign boards to direct the citizens toward the library.
It is very difficult for me after 30 years of friendship and working with Snejeto, to put together in a few sentences, the emotions are still moving me. Snejeto had worked for the library community not only from the time when she became the President, not from 2012.
