Memory from Sabina Aneva, Executive Director of the “National Academic Library and Information System” Foundation

We are shocked by the sad news about Snejana Ianeva’s passing. She was one of the indisputable pillars of the Bulgarian library community. Her entire life was devoted to the cause about raising the level of the Bulgarian librarianship by becoming well acquainted with the good American practices, their studying and adapting to the local level.

The support, which she rendered during the process of introducing the unknown to Bulgaria MARC standards of the US Congress Library, and the respective library systems, was unforgettable. An idealist, an uncompromising professional, she was the champion of the upsurge of the library profession prestige in the contemporary Bulgarian society. With her untimely death we lost a fighter, who with determination aimed at earning intercession and close interaction with the legislative and the executive power.

May her memory live forever!
